Oh krack! massive wifi security flaw

Security researchers unveiled a serious weakness dubbed KRACK (Key Reinstallation AttaCK), found in WPA2, the security standard which protects all modern Wi-Fi networks, and the consequences could be dire.

The vulnerability discovered in WPA2 would allow hackers to break the security model and compromise Wi-Fi traffic between wireless devices and the targeted Wi-Fi network, including information such as passwords, photos, and chat messages.

Hyatt Hotels suffers another card breach

Hotel giant Hyatt Hotels is notifying its customers for the second time in two years of yet another payment card data breach.

Security officials spotted unauthorized access to payment card information from cards entered manually or swiped at the front desk of certain Hyatt-managed locations between March 18, 2017 and July 2, 2017.

Accenture exposes sensitive info in aws misconfig

Accenture has reported leaked information on at least four cloud-based Amazon S3 storage servers.

The publicly downloadable servers exposed secret API data, authentication credentials, certificates, decryption keys, customer information, and other details that could be used to attack Accenture or one of its high profile clients.

Pizza hut customers enraged by delayed breach notification

Pizza Hut customers took to Twitter to express their anger after learning the company failed to notify affected customers for nearly two weeks after discovering a data breach that exposed customer’s credit card details.

It seems like every day there’s another big name company caught leaving the front door open and the windows unlocked for hackers to wreak havoc and cause stress to its customers. First up this week? Pizza Hut.
