According to a new study conducted by Cybersecurity Insiders, over half of organizations (53%) have confirmed an insider attack within the last 12 months. The group polled 400,000 people for its 2018 Insider Threat Report and found that ninety percent of businesses feel they are vulnerable to an insider attack. |

Two-Thirds of Orgs Running outdated SoftwareA study conducted by Spiceworks found over two-thirds of organizations are running unsupported versions of Microsoft Office software, exposing them to potential cyber-attacks. 1,100 IT pros in the US, Canada, and the UK were polled and an overwhelming 68% admitted to still running some instances of Office 2007, even though support ended for this version in October 2016. Even worse? 46% admitted to running Office 2003; 21% Office 200; 15% Office XP (2002 Version); and even 3% claim to still be running Office 97.

Equifax Profits Drop 27% Following BreachEquifax, the credit agency guilty of poorly handling the private financial data of over 143 million consumers, has seen a 27 percent decrease in profits following the September hack. Q3 profits dropped to $96.3 million, down over a quarter from the same period in 2016. Costs associated with the breach reached $87.5 million: $55.5 million in product costs, $17.1 million in professional fees, and $14.9 million in consumer support. DDoS Attacks Spike by 91% since Q1Organizations during the third quarter experienced on average 237 DDoS attack attempts each month, equivalent to eight DDoS attack attempts each day. This figure represents a 35% increase in monthly attempts compared to just the previous quarter.
